The Orla Kiely team approached Farrows looking for a partner to assist them in transforming their business model to one built around an ecommerce platform. This would be managed independently by their team and feature the many Orla Kiely products sourced from their different suppliers.
The main objectives of the project would be to produce a digital experience which aligned with the iconic Orla Kiely aesthetic, and had an intuitive journey and clear path to purchase for users. Products should also be easy to find through navigation or search.
After initial discussions, Shopify Plus was identified as an ideal solution for this project – running a multi-store setup would cater for each of the different international markets that are sold to.
It became apparent that in addition to the customer-facing commerce system, the client would need an ERP to manage the overall business processes involved when establishing as an online retailer. After project scoping, the DEAR system was selected.
